The Phantom Regiment Drum and Bugle Corps has announced the hiring of Pat Seidling as corps director. The hiring was ratified at the Sept. 9 Board of Directors meeting.Seidling brings a wealth of knowledge and more than 15 years of post-marching experience to the Rockford-based corps. He was highly successful as the tour director for the Phantom Regiment in 2001 and previously served as corps director for Southwind Drum and Bugle Corps of Lexington, Ky. Southwind placed 13th at the Drum Corps International World Championships in 2000. He is an alumnus of the Madison (Wis.) Scouts and has worked in a variety of capacities within the drum corps community.John Baumgartner, who has served the corps as director the past two years, had been filling the position on a part-time basis in addition to his full-time job with ADT in Rockford. He will continue to be heavily involved with the corps.Seidling and his wife, Attica, as well as their two dogs will be moving to Loves Park from Nashville, Tenn., where he was working for busforsale.com. He previously was an English teacher for six years.
