From the Phantom Regiment Web site: Now going on its third year, the Phantom Regiment-sponsored Fall Marching Band Festival is partnering with King brass instruments to make this event the premier marching band competition in Illinois. The King Ultimate Series marching brass instruments is the horn line of choice for the Phantom Regiment Drum Corps brass program. "Partnering with King has been one of the most positive moves the Phantom Regiment has made in our long history. King Ultimate marching brass instruments have been designed for exactly the kind of performing we do: high intensity outdoor pageantry," said Pat Seidling, director. Phantom Regiment president Tim Farrell said. "King and its parent company, Conn-Selmer, Inc., are a natural fit to support music education programs like our Fall Marching Festival. We're very excited to have them with us." The fall festival takes place on Saturday, October 1 at Harlem High School's Clyde Peterson Stadium in Machesney Park, Ill., just north of Rockford. Featuring a unique "Instant Feedback" format, each participating band is given the opportunity to watch that day's performance on a big-screen TV with commentary from some of the marching activity's greatest teachers and designers, such as Gene Monterastelli, Jamey Thompson and Paul Rennick. Bands may participate in a competitive class or a festival "ratings-only" class. To sign on your band, or attend as a spectator, contact info@regiment.org or call 815-226-2835 weekdays.
