November marked the unofficial start to the 2007 season as many corps hosted the first of their annual auditions. DCI.org has asked directors and staff members for their tips to help you on your way to becoming a member of the world’s most elite and exclusive marching music ensembles.
Many corps still have opportunities for auditions in December. Visit your favorite corps’ Web sites to find their most complete and up-to-date audition information. Practice hard and good luck!

If you’re nervous at the audition, try to realize that the majority of the people at the audition are there to do just that, audition. Everyone is in the same boat. Realize it is totally natural to be nervous at an audition. Just try to put your best foot forward, and don’t hide in the back of the block. You want to get noticed! Have fun! It will show your love for what you are doing and make you a more desirable person to have in the group.
