On the way to Dayton, Ohio, for WGI Championship week, Scenic City's Velocity Indoor Percussion Ensemble (a part of Scenic City drum and bugle corps) was involved in a car accident that destroyed all the equipment inside the corps' hauler. Luckily, all persons along for the trip were OK.

According to a Scenic City statement, "We are in the process of trying to replace all of the drum corps pit, drums, as well as the hauler. Any donations would be extremely appreciated as the corps season is quickly approaching."
