From a Seattle Cascades press release: Dr. Sal Leone has resigned as executive director of the Seattle Cascades. Referring to the exhaustive nature of running a year-round, highly competitive activity, Leone said the timing is right for someone new to step in and take the Seattle Cascades the next leg of the journey. The board of directors for the Northwest Youth Music Association and Seattle Cascades has appointed Jimmy Fursman as interim executive director, pending a national search for a full-time replacement. Fursman has been with the Cascades for many years and was currently the corps' operations manager. Leone has been with the Seattle Cascades for many years, and under his directorship led them to Division I status and national recognition for the first time in their 50-year history. The values the Cascades hold dear and endeavor to achieve have his fingerprints all over them. While his day-to-day presence will be missed, he will always be a part of the Seattle Cascades family. We wish him much happiness! For more information regarding this and other news, please visit the Cascades Web site.
