It was taken by Matt Leide, a Chicago-area resident who is a drum corps sponsor, volunteer for Phantom Regiment and DCI worker. He wrote to me after my first Forzato pic was published on the DCI Web site, and we shared stories about sponsorship. We met face to face during championship week in Denver, and he sent this to me a few days later. "I didn't have the credentials to get on the field during retreat at finals, but he did, and he shot this pic of Doug Steinmetz (bass), left, and Austin Weber (bass), right that night. I partially sponsored both guys, along with tenor guru Mike Hodges (right of center) this year. "Doug and Austin aged out this year, which is why this championship shot meant the world to me -- "my" Cavaliers enjoying what they worked so hard all summer to achieve -- the best they could be."
