From the Blue Stars Web site: The Blue Stars are pleased to announce the hiring of Greg Struve as the corps' new executive director. In this position, Struve will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Blue Stars and provide leadership and direction for the entire organization.
Struve brings a wealth of experience to the Blue Stars. He marched with the Madison Scouts and later worked for two years as the assistant to Scott Stewart. Struve also served as the marching band director at Champlin Park High School and helped start a non-profit music education group in Minnesota. "I'm honored to be part of an organization that is as steeped in tradition as the Blue Stars," said Struve. "The Blue Stars are one of the founding members of DCI and have had a great deal of success over the years in every DCI division. I look forward to working with the corps' huge alumni base to build on that tradition and continue the corps' momentum and growth in the future." Struve takes over the executive director role from interim director Brad Furlano. Furlano will work with Struve to ensure a smooth transition for the organization, and will continue to work with the corps as program consultant, public relations director and a volunteer. "Greg Struve is a remarkable person who brings great enthusiasm and passion to the Blue Stars," said Furlano. "Greg has the abilities and determination to build on the successes the corps enjoyed in 2003. I look forward to working with him to make the 2004 Blue Stars a corps of which all alumni, boosters and fans can enjoy and be proud." Contact Greg Struve.
