The Cavaliers start up Green Thunder Percussion

by Drum Corps International

From the Cavaliers' Web site: The Cavaliers are pleased to announce the formation of Green Thunder Percussion, a concept whose mission is to strengthen and promote Chicago-area high school percussionists through their engagement in marching, concert and individual percussion efforts, under the guidance of the Cavaliers' percussion team.

The initial efforts will concentrate on developing a non-competitive, entertaining and educational, secondary school marching percussion line to perform at college and professional sporting events, as well as Chicago-area appearances in parades and winter color guard and drum line competitions. Instrumental in the shaping of this concept are the current Cavalier summer percussion team headed by arranger-composer Jim Casella and caption-head Jim Ancona, as well as former Cavalier arranger-composer Bret Kuhn, director Jeff Fiedler, Cavalier board member and former Cavalier percussionist Dave Flynn and Cavalier summer camp director Russ Weber.
