Smitty takes part in a percussion clinic last week.
"Tonight Show" drummer, Marvin "Smitty" Smith helped the Blue Knights with a percussion clinic at Northglenn High School on Saturday, Nov. 8. "Mr. Smith is an incredible drummer!" said Blue Knights Director Mark Arnold. "All in attendance were amazed at his abilities, and taken in by his "down to earth" approach with questions and the amount of time he was willing to spend with them after the clinic. It was also a real pleasure having "Smitty" around the kids auditioning on Saturday. e was truly amazed by the level of the percussionists in attendance and had a lot of fun listening to them play." Those in attendance were also treated to a special performance of the "Stampede," the official drum line of the Denver Broncos (also produced by the Blue Knights). Their performance was culminated with a joint performance with Smitty, where they got the chance to "trade 8s." "Overall it was an incredible day. A real celebration of percussion and youth!" said Arnold.
