The Rose Bowl (top) and Qualcomm Stadium
The final pieces of the Tour of Champions puzzle have been put in place! On Tuesday, Aug. 10, DCI heads to Qualcomm Stadium, a wonderful Southern California venue (home of the NFL Chargers, and site of the 1998 Super Bowl!) in San Diego. The show starts at 7:30 p.m. ^DCI's triumphant march into the Rose Bowl (pristine and beautiful home of the Rose Bowl football contest), in Pasadena, Calif., happens on Wednesday, Aug. 11 at 7:30 p.m. The corps will present a student workshop from 4 to 6 p.m. for ticketholders. Tickets for both events are on sale now. You can order tickets online or by phone at 800.495.7469 x3. For the first time in DCI history, drum corps fans in the West will be able to experience the world's best drum corps at the absolute peak of their season! The Tour of Champions will be an unprecedented celebration of drum corps scheduled for August 9-14, the week following the 2004 Drum Corps International Championships in Denver! Featuring six Drum Corps International champions, The Blue Devils, The Cadets, Santa Clara Vanguard, The Cavaliers, Madison Scouts and Phantom Regiment, the Tour of Champions begins in Southern California with two days of top-caliber clinics and spectacular field performances. The tour then moves north to the San Francisco Bay Area with an additional field performance and a history-making theatre presentation. Make no mistake -- this is not your run-of-the-mill drum corps tour! Produced in world-class facilities, each field event will feature all six corps' full competitive programs refined to their maximum potential, PLUS special encore presentations, unique massed-corps performances and a custom-crafted competitive system never before used by Drum Corps International! Ticket prices for Qualcomm Stadium range from $18 to $35. Tickets for the Rose Bowl range from $15 to $35.
