Brent Turner has been named vice president of corps operations (corps director) for the senior corps Minnesota Brass. Turner said, "I'm looking forward to serving the corps as director and building on the huge successes that the corps has had over the years. It's a big responsibility to be able to live up to the leadership that MBI has had over its long history. In MBI's 58th season I'll be focusing on how the corps can keep improving the experience for all its members, staff and alumni over the next three years to capitalize on our 60th anniversary season in 2006 and beyond." Turner has a strong drum corps history to guide him. His resum?© includes performing with the Madison Scouts and Minnesota Brass, Inc.; writer and visual instructor for the University of Minnesota, Capital Sound and many Minnesota-area bands. Most recently, Turner has been visual caption head with Minnesota Brass. Professionally, Turner is a licensed staff member at Eden Prairie High School in Minnesota, holding a master's and bachelor's degree in education from the University of Minnesota. Dave Whitaker was named Minnesota Brass' assistant corps director and vice president of business affairs. Gavin Burnham will continue as the executive director.
