Temperatures are rising, snow is melting, trees are budding, birds are singing ... after the long and dreary winter which is still raring its ugly head in certain East Coast locales, it seems that the seductive spring—precursor to the magnificent horn lines, percussion sections, and color guards that will own the summer months—has snuck its way onto people's calendars. And with daily thoughts of steamy summer nights creeping into the heads of drum corps fans across the country, we should take note that the we are officially only 87 days from the start of the 2007 Summer Music Games Tour. That's when corps will kick off the 35th anniversary season of Drum Corps International at the DCI Salutes America major event in Annapolis, Md. As Major League baseball teams wrap up their spring training camps for the start of their seasons only a couple weeks away, we can celebrate this first full day of the new season while enjoying this video of the Cavaliers, as they take to the diamond in their baseball-inspired "Hope Springs Eternal" section of the corps' 2005 production, "My Kind of Town."
