Robert E. Rich, Sr. All-High Stadium was used to film a scene in the 1984 film, "The Natural."
A previously unscheduled stadium field construction project at the University of Buffalo Stadium in New York, will cause the relocation of the Aug. 3 Tour of Champions series event. The competition will be moved to Robert E. Rich All-High Stadium (2885 Main Street in Buffalo) and is set to feature a lineup of the Blue Devils, Cadets, Cavaliers, Carolina Crown, Troopers, Bluecoats and Santa Clara Vanguard. The venue is one of three stadiums in use by the Buffalo Public Schools system. Presented by Drums Along the Waterfront, the relocated event will keep its original date of Sunday, Aug. 3, and it will kick off at 7 p.m. ET. "While this move is an unexpected inconvenience, the organizers of Drums Along the Waterfront have been working hard to stage a world-class event in the new stadium," DCI Executive Director Dan Acheson said. "Regardless of the venue, this group of corps is set to bring an unprecedented level of excitement to Buffalo." All-High Stadium is a venue familiar to the Drum Corps International Tour, previously hosting a DCI event as recent as 2008. The 5,000-seat stadium was renovated in 2007. Patrons who have already purchased tickets to the event at the University of Buffalo will receive a complete refund of their purchase from Ticketmaster. Tickets for the new venue will go on sale to the general public through the Drum Corps International Box Office beginning Friday, July 4 at noon, 12 p.m. ET. View additional event details.
