There would be no drum corps without volunteers. Cooking food, sewing uniforms, driving buses, and the million other major duties that move a drum corps down the road fall into the more than capable hands of volunteers. These men and women come from every walk of life to lend their time for a few days or weeks, or even for the entire summer tour. In this video captured at a Carolina Crown rehearsal on June 20, executive director Kevin Smith tips his hat to his crew of 2008 volunteers, while Pam Pitner and Diane Olencki give an inside look at some of the wonders they work to keep the corps functioning and successful as corps members get set to head out on their annual summer tour.
