From a Madison Scouts press release: The Madison Scouts drum and bugle corps is pleased to announce the appointment of Peter J. Weber as visual designer for the 2004-2005 season. Currently a candidate for a master's of music degree in instrumental conducting at the University of Houston, he is an Illinois native and a graduate of Illinois Wesleyan University. Known as a clinician, adjudicator and educator, Weber has worked on the staffs of the Cavaliers and the Colts. During the past year he served as interim band director at Prospect High School in Mt. Prospect, Ill. He has written drill for groups in Texas, Kentucky, Iowa, Illinois, Indiana and Ohio, successfully exhibiting a flair for geometric development, pictorial integrity and dramatic climax.

In making the announcement, Madison director Sal Salas said, "We're incredibly impressed with Pete's grasp of what it will take to create that potent, aggressive fire our fans, alumni and members expect. We want to project a powerful new attitude, a fresh look with an old swagger," he continued, "and Pete has the background, personality and drive to put a innovative face on a great corps." In naming Weber to this post, Salas asserted his commitment to creating an ambitious visual program for the next decade, consistent with modern educational standards, but bold enough to reflect the traditions of one of the most popular Champions in the history of Drum Corps International.
