From the YEA! Web site: Saturday night, Nov. 6, marked the world premiere of YEA!'s newest performing ensemble, "ThunderJam," at the opening night of the New York Knicks' 2004 NBA home season at Madison Square Garden in New York City. Dubbed as the official percussion ensemble of the Knicks, the 26 talented drummers from the ranks of the Cadets, Crossmen and USSBA came together for two days of intense rehearsals before performing at halftime of the Knicks-Celtics game. Negotiations are continuing with the team for up to ten more appearances by ThunderJam at Knicks home games throughout the upcoming season. The performance by ThunderJam adds to the growing list of showcase opportunities for YEA! drummers, including the "Screacher Creatures" at New Jersey Nets games and potential appearances with other NBA clubs. On Sunday, members of ThunderJam performed at the USSBA All-States Championships in Allentown before moving back to New York for an appearance on MTV Total Request Live with Destiny's Child on Monday afternoon. The performances with the NBA teams are the result of the ongoing partnership between YEA! and BDEntertainment. Stay tuned to yea.org for the latest on upcoming performances by YEA! ensembles throughout the NBA and beyond.
