Open Summer Positions
Drum Corps International internships offer candidates the opportunity to dig in and get their hands dirty learning, collaborating, working on real projects and experiencing what it's like to work at a world-class event management organization.
The application window for summer internships is closed.
Applying: Applicants should apply to the internship for which they are most qualified. Submitting applications for more than two (2) positions is discouraged.
Cover letters and resumes should be emailed to firstname.lastname@example.org. Please include your name and the position you are applying for in the subject line. Priority consideration will be given to applications received by February 14.
Dates: Summer positions are from the end of May to mid-August.
Location: Unless otherwise noted, positions are based at the Drum Corps International headquarters in downtown Indianapolis, Indiana.
Hours: Summer session internships are full-time (9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday) and may include substantial weekend hours while traveling to and working at DCI Tour events and the DCI World Championships.
Compensation: You are paid a per diem of $36 per day or $252 per week. You will receive the per diem every two weeks. Depending on the position, interns may have the opportunity to travel and be involved extensively with off-site Drum Corps International events and the annual World Championships, during which travel and related expenses are covered.
Housing: Interns are required to be located in Indianapolis. Drum Corps International may assist in the identification of housing options, and will assist in organizing apartment sharing with other interns to keep costs to a minimum should interest warrant.
Transportation: Ground transportation to and from the DCI office as well as transportation to and from the airport for field assignments are the responsibility of the intern. Several of our previous interns have traveled to our Indianapolis headquarters using their own vehicles and have typically made daily carpool arrangements to and from the office.
Drum Corps International is a registered 501(c)(3) organization and is an Equal Opportunity Employer (EOE).
