Tickets are now on sale for the Academy-sponsored Southwest Corps Connection, a 2012 DCI Tour event. The show will take place Wednesday, June 20, at Dobson High School in Mesa, Ariz.

Blue Stars
Members of the Bluecoats will join the Canton (Ohio) Symphony Orchestra for the ensemble’s “Sound the Trumpets” concert on Saturday, April 28. A group of 25 brass players will join the orchestra, performing Janacek’s Sinfonietta and Katchaturian’s Sympony No. 3.

Bluecoats
Blue Stars Executive Director Brad Furlano has appointed Dr. Russell Gavin as corps director for the 2012 season. Boston Crusaders
It’s not too late to audition for the 2012 Boston Crusaders color guard! The group’s audition camp for the section will take place April 20-22, at Lakewood Ranch High School in Bradenton, Fla. If you’d like to attend, fill out the application form on the corps’ website.

The Cadets
Voting to determine the 2012 class of Cadets Hall of Fame members will begin this Friday, April 6. The voting process, which is open to members of the Cadets Alumni Association, will run through Monday, April 23.

Carolina Crown
Carolina Crown will host a number of its popular “Side-by-Side” educational workshops throughout the corps’ 2012 summer tour. Designed to “help band directors and high school students see the intimate inner workings of Carolina Crown,” events will take place across the country from late May into early July. Cascades
The Cascades have named and promoted a number of staff members to several positions including Steve Menefee (Program Director), Pat Davis (Tour Director), and Doug Hebenthal (Executive Director).

The Cavaliers
The Cavaliers organization has several summer internship positions available during its 2012 summer touring season. According to the corps, the internship program is “focused on providing distinct learning opportunities and real-world work experiences in the marching arts and non-profit sector.” Positions are available in media and video production, marketing communications, merchandising, and fundraising and development. Applications are due by Wednesday, April 25.

Colts
Tickets are now on sale for two Colts-sponsored DCI Tour events: Celebration in Brass on Tuesday, July 10, in Waukee, Iowa, and Brass Impact on Monday, July 16, in Olathe, Kansas.

Crossmen
The Crossmen want you to plan your “corps-cation” today as a volunteer during the corps’ 2012 summer tour. While touring, volunteers are provided housing, meals, local transportation and access to the corps’ performances. Contact the corps today to lend a helping hand.

Glassmen
The Glassmen mourn the loss of Mack Smith, 85, who was a longtime volunteer and supporter of the corps. Funeral services took place on Tuesday, April 3 in Toledo, Ohio.

Impulse
Impulse will hold its color guard auditions on April 29, at Marina High School in Huntington Beach, Calif.

Jersey Surf
Just in time for April Fools’ Day, the Jersey Surf took the wraps off its “Triple Supertruck,” a luxurious transporter that combines the corps’ equipment, cooking and administrative operations into one behemoth roadster.

Madison Scouts
Join the Madison Scouts on Friday, June 22, at Bridges Golf Course for the organization’s seventh annual “Go for the Green” golf outing. The $150 per-player donation includes 18 holes of golf with cart included, lunch, hole prizes, and more. Register today on the Madison Scouts website.

Each summer, Pioneer partners with the South African Field Band Foundation to give the opportunity to several students to travel to the United States and perform with the corps on its annual summer tour. Meet the latest group of exchange students who will take the field with the corps in 2012.

The Racine Scouts recently announced the title of their 2012 production, “The American Experience.”

Sprit of Atlanta
Spirit of Atlanta has rescheduled its educational leadership clinic to Saturday, May 5, at Ola High School in McDonough, Ga. Open to any music or color guard students, attendees will be able to observe Spirit of Atlanta during its rehearsals, interact with the corps members and work with the corps’ staff of educators.
