“Tonight’s performance was really great,” Caballeros drum major Kim Roman said. “It had a lot of energy at the end, we’ve really been working for it.”

While Caballeros topped the charts in most captions, Bushwackers won Color Guard by two tenths of a point. The Connecticut Hurricanes took third in the World Class division, scoring 86.050 and ranking ahead of Bushwackers in Visual Analysis.

SoundSport

Rhythm IN BLUE

Saturday’s Williamsport event also featured performances in the SoundSport (Rhythm IN BLUE), Alumni Corps (Hawthorne Caballeros Alumni), and Mini Corps (Freelancers) designations. All three of these groups also performed with several others at a special event in downtown Williamsport on Friday evening.

For Freelancers, Saturday marked the ensemble’s final performance of the summer.

“Everbody was very encouraged and satisfied,” Freelancers member Rose Cataneo said. “We got a great reception from the audience, and we feed off of that.”

The rest of the World and All-Age Corps from Saturday’s event — as well as Rhythm IN BLUE, which is gearing up for an appearance at the SoundSport International Music & Food Festival presented by Jazz Wealth — will make their way to Indianapolis as well, for an array of DCI World Championship events at Lucas Oil Stadium.
