Giving Tuesday 2021

#GivingTuesday is a global day of giving that harnesses the collective power of individuals, communities and organizations to encourage philanthropy and to celebrate generosity worldwide.

Following Thanksgiving and the widely recognized shopping events Black Friday and Cyber Monday, #GivingTuesday helps to kick off the year-end giving season by inspiring people to collaborate and give back.

Amidst the challenges of the ongoing coronavirus pandemic and as drum corps across the country continue to recuperate and resume operations after the cancelation of the 2020 DCI Tour, getting involved on #GivingTuesday takes on a magnified focus in 2021.

1. | Donate to DCI’s MarchOn Fund

Celebrating Drum Corps International’s 50th anniversary season with plans to return to an expanded tour schedule during the summer of 2022, your support has never been needed more to ensure that the stadium lights continue shining bright for future generations of marching music performers.

2. | Donate to your favorite corps

Through the ongoing pandemic, each of DCI’s performing ensembles has taken a different approach to ensuring they can continue to create incredible educational and performance opportunities for their memberships. Your donation will help support those efforts as they continue to work toward serving their missions and their return to the Drum Corps International stage.

3. | Support DCI’s scholarship funds

Drum Corps International and partner organizations awarded nearly $30,000 to deserving corps members this past August during a scaled back and abbreviated DCI Tour. With your support we can work to give back even more to these outstanding students in 2022. Here are a few of DCI’s annual scholarship funds that you can donate to today:

IN STEP: Women of DCI Scholarship
Gary Czapinski Memorial Scholarship
Marching Music Health Wellness & Safety Project Scholarship
Rodney Goodhart Memorial Scholarship
Al Moffatt Memorial Scholarship
Michelle Owens Memorial Scholarship
Michael Boo Memorial Scholarship
Jim Jones Leadership Award

4. | Amplify your holiday shopping

Amazon Smile is one of the most popular ways to directly support your favorite organization by doing something you already do on a regular basis, online shop. To date the company has given back more than $216 billion as part of the program. Simply choose Drum Corps International (or one of your favorite corps) as your charity of choice at and then shop like you normally would. Amazon will then donate a portion of your purchases back to your chosen organization.

5. | Share a post

We realize these continue to be tough times for so many people around the world. A donation of any amount on #GivingTuesday is greatly appreciated; however, if you are unable to make a financial contribution at this time, please consider sharing DCI’s and your favorite corps’ social media posts, emails and web links with your friends, families and networks!
