Northern Illinois University in DeKalb, Ill. will be the site of the first OnQ Music & Marching WorQshop event of the 2008 summer season. Hosted by the university, the interactive educational program will take place from June 29 through July 1, and will feature two of the elite World Class corps of Drum Corps International, the Bluecoats and the Cavaliers.

"This WorQshop will set a new standard for the summer music camp experience," said Gary Doherty, executive director of OnQ Performance Education. "The event will draw upon some of the nation's finest music educators, combining their expertise with the talents of two outstanding ensembles. This will create a unique opportunity for students to be informed, energized and inspired."

Students will spend a portion of the camp in sessions with educators in brass, woodwind, and percussion performance disciplines, as well as in color guard and visual technique classes.

Included in the registration fee is a ticket to a special exhibition performance of the corps to be held on Monday, June 30. This showcase will include opportunities for interaction between the corps, their staff members and the students in attendance.
