Through the "show band" style, the Field Band Foundation creates lifetime opportunities for the youth of South Africa through the discipline and creativity of music and movement. With 24 performing groups, the organization provides performance opportunities for more than 3,000 youth.
From Thursday, Sept. 27 to Saturday, Sept. 29, Gibbs and Hickman will tour the Field Band Foundation's office, take part in the organization's 10th anniversary celebrations, and experience the performances of the groups taking part in the organization's First Division Championships and National Championships festivals.
Gibbs says that the he hopes that this trip will make it possible to establish partnerships between the Blue Devils organization, Drum Corps International and the Field Band Foundation.
