The Academy's eighth annual Memorial Day Celebration is set for Monday, May 31 at the Pera Club in Tempe, Ariz. The aim of the event, according to the website, is to "recognize our war heroes through a spectrum of family events including food, games, entertainment and raffles."

Blue Devils



The Blue Devils unveiled their 2010 show concept, "Through a Glass, Darkly." Taking inspiration from Bob Graettinger's unconventional "City of Glass Suite," this year's production of jazz and modern music will allow the corps to "continue to explore and discover visual possibilities outside the norm."

The Cadets



As part of the Memorial Day rehearsal camp weekend, Youth Education in the Arts (YEA) presents "An Evening with the Cadets" concert and reception. Taking place Sunday, May 30 at Pequannock Township HS in Pompton Plain, N.J., the corps will present its 2010 production and other traditional songs.

Carolina Crown



Carolina Crown just finished its first week of all-day rehearsals, moving into Gardner Webb University (Boiling Springs, N.C.) on May 22. They'll rehearse for two-and-a-half more weeks before departing for their summer tour on June 16.

Colts



Memorial Day is important for many drum corps, and the Colts are no exception. On Monday, May 31, they're marching in a parade starting in Jackson Park near the Colts' office in Dubuque, Iowa, and finishing in Washington Park, where they'll perform a concert.

Glassmen



This Memorial Day holiday, the Glassmen have not one, but two parades: on Friday, May 28, the corps marches in the Toledo Memorial Parade at 10 a.m., and on Monday the 31st, the corps will be in the Defiance, Ohio parade at 9:30 a.m.

Jersey Surf



Jersey Surf members will be marching in their Memorial Day parade on Saturday, May 29 starting at 9 a.m. in Penndel, Pa. Word on the street is that the best place to see the corps will be on Hulmeville Ave. and Rumphe Ave.

Madison Scouts



On June 1, the Scouts begin a second phase of their fundraising campaign, "The Largest Garage Sale Ever!" The organization is asking alumni and friends to volunteer or help by inviting businesses and other groups to rent space and donate items for the event which will take place Oct. 2-3 in Madison, Wis.

Pacific Crest is inviting spectators to watch its rehearsals at Tesoro HS in Rancho Santa Margarita, Calif. during Memorial Day Weekend, May 29-31.

Phantom Regiment



Next week, you'll have a chance to see Phantom Regiment before the 2010 DCI Tour starts. On Tuesday, June 8, the corps performs its annual Concert in the Park in Rockford, Ill.

Pioneer members will perform their Senior Center Exhibition on Sunday, May 30 as they begin spring training rehearsals and prepare for their summer tour.

Revolution



Revolution is having its final rehearsal camp before the summer tour starts over the Memorial Day holiday. The three-day weekend includes a family potluck and concert on Monday.

Spirit announced its musical selections for its 2010 show, "Forging an Icon." It includes works by Keith Emerson, Sergei Prokofiev, Bernard Herrmann and Michael Daugherty.
