Blue Knights Blue Knights is seeking volunteers to help run its weekly bingo sessions on Tuesday and Wednesday evenings. Proceeds from the corps' bingo operation account for almost 40 percent of the organization's annual budget.

Boston Crusaders The Boston Crusaders have announced their key returning and new staff members for the 2011 season. Among the newest appointments are former Cavaliers director Bruno Zuccala who will take on a leadership role dealing with corps programming, performance and everyday operations, Chad Pence who will serve as brass caption head, and Ellis Hampton who will serve as percussion caption head and designer. "With our new additions, we feel like we have achieved a great blend of consistency and progress; familiarity with our organization as well as outside perspective, which is invaluable in our quest for constant improvement" said Executive Director Tom Spataro.

City Sound City Sound will begin rehearsals for its Brass Choir in September. The offshoot performance ensemble of the drum corps is open to brass musicians of all ability levels between 13 and 21 years of age. Rehearsals take place on Sundays in Bell Gardens, Calif.

Platinum Platinum launched a new equipment fundraising campaign to purchase a brand new set of Kanstul G Bugles for the 2012 season. In what the corps calls a "transition back to the more 'grass roots' movement of drum corps," the use of traditional G-keyed bugles has faded since corps have adopted more widely used B-flat instruments. "This is a bold move for any corps in the junior activity to make, but we are confident that this will fit the mold of what we want Platinum to be known as, and that is a strong, powerful, and entertaining ensemble," said Executive Director Steve McKeiver.

Raiders The Raiders are currently accepting resumes from individuals interested in joining the corps' educational staff for the 2011 season. Caption head positions are open in the percussion, color guard and visual sections, with additional staff members needed for every section. "We've had great success over the past 10 years within DCI. Winning a divisional World Championship, along with silver and bronze medals has been fantastic. Santa Clara Vanguard Santa Clara and the Blue Devils will team up on Saturday, Sept. 11 for their annual Fleet Clean Up Day. Volunteers will gather beginning at 8 a.m. at the SCV corps hall in Santa Clara, Calif. with the goal of cleaning both corps' sets of buses inside and out.

Teal Sound Newly inducted DCI Hall of Fame member Robert W. Smith will join Teal Sound in 2011 as a program consultant.
