From Jan. 19-20, 2008, the Spokane Thunder held its first rehearsal camp and open house for the 2008 competitive season. The corps reports that the number of members at this event was the largest in its four-year history, with about 20 percent of attendees new to the organization and the drum corps organization.

Submitted by the Cadets:



The Cadets met last weekend at Penns Grove High School in Carneys Point, N.J., for their third rehearsal camp of the season. The brass and percussion sections combined to play nearly two additional minutes of "Vesuvius," the second arrangement within the program. According to Cadets Director and Program Coordinator George Hopkins, the corps is now moving into the percussion segment of the program.

The weekend of Jan. 18-20, current and prospective members of the 2008 Crossmen returned to their home at Ronald Reagan High School in Northern San Antonio to continue rehearsals and preparations for the upcoming season. Through the course of the camp, participants worked on technique, movement, and a variety of literature from the corps' standard repertoire. They also worked on several pieces that will be part of their 2008 program titled "Planet X."
