From a Spirit press release: Stacy Flannery (color guard caption head) and Johnnie B. Green (visual caption head) have joined the Spirit leadership team for the 2004 season. Flannery is currently finishing her bachelor of arts degree in psychology from Indiana State University. She also attended Purdue University, where she held numerous leadership and honor positions. Her color guard teaching experience includes Phantom Regiment (2001-2002), Spirit (2003), JSU Centerstage, Northview High School (Ind.), Avon High School A guard (Ind.), Homestead High School (Ind.), Center Grove High School (Ind.), Lassiter High School (Ga.), Carroll High School (Ind.) and Bellbrook High School (Ohio). She has served in various positions with these groups as designer, writer or technician. Flannery's marching experience includes seasons with the Bluecoats, (1996-1998), Carolina Crown (1999-2000), Pride of Cincinnati Winter Guard (1998-99), and Crown Guard Winter Guard (2000-2002). While a marching member of the Crown Guard, she served as the captain. Flannery brings much experience to Spirit as a performer and teacher. She is very enthusiastic and has high expectations for the 2004 color guard. Johnnie B. Green will be returning to Spirit in 2004 as visual caption head after serving his first season as lead visual technician. Green marched lead soprano with the Cavaliers from 1991-1994, winning the 1992 DCI World Championship. He also won individual and ensemble world championships in 1992 and 1994. Green has also served as caption head at Cincinnati Glory and Pioneer. Green began teaching in 1990 at Normal Community High School (Ill.), where he continued to serve until 1995, when he began coordinating brass and visual programs at Normal West High School from 1995-1997. Currently, Green is the visual coordinator at Colerain High School (Ohio), Conner High School (Ky.), and Archbishop Moeller High School (Ohio), where his responsibilities include visual coordination and design of the marching band and winter guard programs. Green also consults and designs for Johnston High School (Iowa), and numerous other programs in the Cincinnati area. Green is a senior music education major at Northern Kentucky University, where he is charter president of the Kappa Omega Chapter of Kappa Kappa Psi. He was a finalist in the 2002 Corbett Scholar Competition. Green has studied trumpet with Dr. Amy Gilreath at Illinois State University, Parker Melvin at the University of Illinois, Judith Saxton at Illinois Wesleyan University, and Dr. Jonathan Gresham at Northern Kentucky University.

Green serves on the Board of Directors of the Tri-State Circuit for the Pageantry Arts, and is a member of the International Trumpet Guild.
