Glassmen brass staff members win awards and promotions

From a Glassmen press release: Two Glassmen brass staff members were recently recognized for their outstanding work outside of the drum corps activity. Arranger Robert W. Smith, a prolific composer of concert band and orchestral literature in America today, has recently taken on a new position with C.L. Barnhouse Company and its subsidiary, Walking Frog Records in addition to teaching as part of the new music industry program at Troy University in Alabama.

Mark Waymire, associate director of bands at Eastern Michigan University (EMU) in Ypsilanti, will be recognized with an honorary induction the Michigan School Band & Orchestra Association (MSBOA) in June. He is also a recent recipient of the EMU Holman Center Award for outstanding lecturer at Eastern Michigan University. Learn more about these two staff members' accomplishments on www.glassmen.org.
