Tonight marks the 25th anniversary of Drums along the Midlands, a classic drum corps show held in Omaha, Neb. If you're in the area, check it out! The show will be held at Al Caniglia Field, at 60th and Dodge streets. Performing there tonight are Blue Devils, Boston Crusaders, Madison Scouts, Capital Regiment, Carolina Crown and Kiwanis Kavaliers. Jim De Mers , a founding director of Drums Across the Midlands, sent in his congratulations this afternoon. "In 1977, while I was an Assistant Professor at Peru State College, Neb., I became the founding Director of Drums Across the Midlands in Omaha, Neb. I directed the first and second annual drum and bugle corps shows for the years 1977 and 1978. I then took a position here in California.

"It is good news to hear that the annual Drums Across the Midlands is still going strong and is celebrating their 25th Anniversary. Wish I were there to celebrate with you. Congratulations!"
Congrats to all who have been involved with this great DCI show through the years!
