Spartans compete at the 2013 Open Class
World Championship Semifinals Monday.
The 2013 Drum Corps International World Championships officially kicked off on Monday, Aug. 5, as 14 corps from across the country and around the world met at Ames Field in Michigan City, Ind. for the Open Class Semifinals. Vanguard Cadets defeated Blue Devils B for the first time this season, by a slim 0.25 margin, with tight competition up and down all of the competing corps. The top 12 corps from Monday's event advancing to the Open Class World Championship Finals also include Genesis, Music City, Spartans, 7th Regiment, Gold, Legends, Raiders, Colt Cadets, Les Stentors and Racine Scouts. Taipei Yuehfu will compete both nights of the Open Class World Championships as an International Class corps, and though not advancing, Blue Saints will have the opportunity to perform Tuesday in exhibition.
