The Impulse drum line brought their outdoor performance expertise to center court last weekend (Oct. 11) when the National Basketball League's Phoenix Suns and Denver Nuggets played a rare outdoor pre-season game at the Indian Wells Tennis Garden in Indian Wells, Calif.

According to NBA.com this nationally televised event was attended by a sellout crowd of more than 16,000, and marks the first NBA game held outdoors since 1972. The Impulse drum line entertained during the pre-game festivities and on the court during the first quarter break. This is the organization's second high-profile NBA appearance, having performed at the Staples Center in Los Angeles during the 2008 Western Conference Finals last May.

"Impulse is proud to have been asked to perform for this historical game," said Edward (Beno) Morris, Impulse's entertainment coordinator. "This opportunity is allowing the members to experience another aspect of performance. Last year we started this entertainment group playing for the Lakers in the Western Conference Finals, we became the official drum corps for the Palm Springs Power baseball team, and made several public appearances including a concert and parade at Six Flags Magic Mountain."
