Five corps advanced to Wednesday's DCI SUMMER MUSIC GAMES Division II World Championship by scoring in the 90s at Tuesday's Division II prelims. Mandarins captured first place by winning Visual and Music GE, Performance and Ensemble Visual, and Brass Music sub-captions, finishing with a score of 95.60.Moving up a class after winning the 2000 DCI Division III Championship, Seattle Cascades scored 94.55 and won the Ensemble and Percussion Music sub-captions, remaining in the hunt for this year's top Division II honors.Spartans won the Color Guard sub-caption and scored 92.15 to enter finals in third place. Fourth place went to Capital Regiment (90.95), and the final spot in finals was captured by Patriots (90.80).Non-finalist corps included Jersey Surf (6th place-89.85), Capital Sound (7th place-85.80), Taipai Yeuhfu (8th place-84.60), Impulse (9th place-82.15), Yamato (10th place-81.75), Tampa Bay Thunder (11th place-80.30) and Allegiance Elite (12th place-78.90).The top five highest scores from Wednesday night's finals, regardless of class, will advance to Thursday's quarterfinals. In Division II/III finals, the five Division II finalists listed above will meet the top seven corps from Monday's Division III prelims. Those corps include Raiders, Blue Stars, Americanos, Marion Glory Cadets, East Coast Jazz, Les Senateurs, and Teal Sound.
