By Sonia Ramirez, Revolution public relations manager Jason Myers will serve as revolution's color guard caption head for the 2006 season. Myers, a native Texan, is the color guard director as well as the assistant band director for Magnolia High School in Magnolia, Texas. He holds a bachelor's degree in music education and saxophone performance from the University of North Texas College of Music. He currently holds memberships with TMEA, TBA, TCGC and WGI. Myers' drum corps experience includes working with Gulf Coast Sound as a color guard consultant in 2005. He has also directed several award winning color guards and winter guards in Texas as the color guard director, drill instructor, design consultant, and drill designer. His guards include Denton, Little Elm, and Northwest high schools. Under his direction, the Magnolia High School guard program has grown to one of the largest guard programs in the state of Texas. Myers marched with many guards including Unity Independent, NRO Independent winter guard, and was the Captain of the UNT Green Brigade Color Guard. "With a heightened level of fundamental training and the motivation to work hard, the Revolution color guard can be one of the best out there," Myers said.
