Starting as a volunteer in the organization’s Bingo hall in 2011, Kristy Jackson has held an impressive number of varied roles with the Troopers on her way to being named the corps’ director in September of 2018.

“You get into the depths of the drum corps and [see] how it runs,” Jackson spoke of the benefit of experiencing so many different responsibilities. “You can see what needs improvement and what works really well. You get a better understanding of each individual position and how much of a team it takes to run a drum corps.”

The DCI News Network caught up with Jackson this January in Indianapolis to learn more about her rise to leadership within the Troopers organization.
