From a Phoenix press release: The Phoenix Drum and Bugle Corps of Brick, N.J., has made the decision for its Division III program to be inactive for the 2004 DCI season. In recent weeks, it had become increasingly obvious that Phoenix would not have enough membership to field their Division III program this year. Although this is not an ideal situation, it will give the organization time to develop a better recruiting plan and continue to be able to provide a quality program for all its participants. Although our Division III corps will not be touring this year, Phoenix is by no means closing its doors. Along with the competitive Division III Corps, Phoenix also sponsors three successful Winter Guards, a feeder program, and we have plans to sponsor an indoor percussion unit for the 2005 season. Phoenix has also recently entered into a partnership with Aramark concessions, and manage a concession stand for the Philadelphia Philles. Phoenix will also be sponsoring the DCI-Atlantic Division II & III contest on July 10 in Brick, N.J. The board of directors of Phoenix would like to thank the drum corps community for their support and well wishes. And a special thanks to all of the drum corps who have opened their doors so the remaining members of Phoenix would be able to continue their drum corps season. Phoenix plans to be back on the field better than ever in 2005. Any question please contact Matt Hurley .
