Only four days until THE Midwest Championships on July 11 and July 12 in Dekalb, Ill. Marco Buscaglia, a Cavaliers alum, remembers, "DeKalb was always a great show -- big crowds, great fans. We held our May camps in the stadium, so it was always kind of a homecoming for us. It was usually the first chance for friends and family to see the show in a big stadium, so you'd get a lot of reaction from people who'd see things for the first time from up top. It also marked the midpoint in the season. Once DeKalb was finished, we knew we were in the home stretch." And for those drum corps fans slaving away in downtown Chicago until later on Friday night, you can STILL see Division I corps in DeKalb that night -- the Kiwanis Kavaliers, Carolina Crown , Crossmen , The Cadets and Boston Crusaders don't step off until 10 p.m.
