Color Guard Netherlands (CGN), the European counterpart of Winter Guard International in The Netherlands and surrounding countries, will again host an individual and ensemble competition in October, which will also open for percussion and brass players. The contest will take place on Oct. 9, 2004 in Huizen, The Netherlands. CGN is a part of the KNFM, the largest band, woodwinds, corps and color guard organization in The Netherlands. The guard circuit hosted a couple of very successful I&E competitions in the past (which were open for color guard only). After the reintroduction of an indoor percussion contest last year, an I&E competition for percussion was added and this year. Likewise, a brass and mixed ensemble section will be open for participants this year. The contest will be open to any individual or ensemble. You don't have to be based in The Netherlands to compete. A Dutch information page is available at colorguard.org/ie, and information can also be obtained via e-mail at ie@colorguard.org.
