A message from the Madison Drum and Bugle Corps AssociationOn Tuesday, Sept. 10, the Board of Directors of the Madison Drum and Bugle Corps Association met. Also in attendance were approximately 25 interested and enthusiastic fans, members, staff and boosters. An open forum was conducted and a number of guests offered constructive comments on how they felt the Association should proceed in the search for a new Executive Director. There were also thoughts shared on how the new Executive Director should lead our Association in the future. After a brief break, the board reconvened their meeting to formalize the makeup of the interview committee and to review the recommendations of the resume review committee. We received numerous resumes, and are greatly pleased with the overall quality of the applicants. The resume review committee referred the most qualified candidates to the interview committee, who will be sending the candidates a follow-up questionnaire. Additionally, the board reviewed those resumes not forwarded by the resume committee, to ensure that the best possible choices were made.Based on the responses to the questionnaire, we will invite the most-qualified candidates for an interview. We expect to have a decision by October 1st.The overwhelming response we received for the Executive Director position has been flattering, and we thank all those who took the time to express their interest.
